Inspirationelle Foundation

The Polar Maidens expedition is raising funds for the INSPIRATIONELLE FOUNDATION.

The INSPIRATIONELLE FOUNDATION aims to support people of all ages, but particularly women and children, wanting to do something extraordinary, who will also go on to share their story and inspire others.

Our mission is to advance the education of individuals so that they develop their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, both as individual citizens and members of their local, national and international communities.

Project Grants

The Foundation aims to provide mentoring and the advice of our network of ‘women and men less ordinary’, as well as a grant or grants each year to individuals and groups undertaking unusual, demanding, challenging, arduous and interesting projects that provide a journey of self-discovery and personal development.

Although not solely limited to exploration, expeditions and adventurous travel, there will be an emphasis on projects that engender personal, social and environmental sustainability. Priority will be given to ordinary individuals of all ages with limited or no prior experience of the project they propose to undertake;

Inspirational Talks & Keynote Presentations

We will also encourage and help those who we have helped, or inspired to do something extraordinary, to take the time to speak to schools, charities and other non-commercial organisations.

Our aim is to inspire the audience to ask “why not?” when a challenge arises, as well as provide entertaining stories of leadership, teamwork and discovery.

Jan Meek has been the driving force behind establishing the Foundation. Since she gained her first Guinness World record in 1997, she has spoken to over 700 schools and voluntary organisations.

Recognising that celebrities, sportsmen and women and even the emergency services are funded to speak, she wanted the Foundation to enable ordinary people, who had done something extraordinary, to tell their story and inspire others to do the same.

Share Inspirational Stories

By publishing and making available the logs, diaries and journals of those who receive grants, the Foundation aims to encourage others to do the same.

Thank you to everyone who supports the INSPIRATIONELLE FOUNDATION and makes its work possible, we very much appreciate your help.

Thank you to our sponsors HFW

HFW (Holman Fenwick Willan LLP) is a global law firm. HFW very kindly provided pro bono legal advice to establish the INSPIRATIONELLE FOUNDATION.  Jan Meek and the team hugely appreciated your generosity. You shared our dream even when it was still possible it might not happen. Thank you.
